Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a role model and sponsor of safety. Ensure employees are adhering to all safety policies and feel empowered to raise any safety concerns.
  • Drive site 6S initiatives and ensure that the site meets pre-established targets for improvement in the areas of sort, set-in-order, shine, sustain, standardize, and safety.
  • Coordinate efforts of immediate staff with EH&S Manager and other resources as required to continually improve safety performance.
  • Manage the department budgets and takes ownership of exceeding daily performance targets. Drive key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost). When misses occur, develop a credible recovery plan, and deploy resources to address gaps.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, monitor, and update long-range plans by translating Executive Team goals and objectives into actionable programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure department employees are properly trained in applicable work instructions and work is being performed to procedure. Coordinate efforts of staff with Technical and other resources to modify work instructions as required to continually improve in areas of process control, safety, quality, yield, throughput, and cost.
  • Communicate with direct reports so that all goals, expectations, and performance against plans are well understood. Encourage employee participation and involvement to foster teamwork, ownership, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop supervisory staff to perform at increasingly higher levels and to accept broader responsibilities through coaching and training in leadership, teambuilding, and other applicable subjects (Lean Manufacturing, TOC, Six Sigma, PCC toolbox techniques).
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained to minimize process control excursions and unplanned outages and to maximize throughput opportunity. Coordinate efforts of staff with Plant Engineering resources to further develop and fully utilize the maintenance management software system to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Identify capital requirements to meet company goals and objectives. Coordinate efforts of resources (Staff, Accounting, Technical, Plant Engineering, Sales) to develop capital authorization requests for submission.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews, provide feedback to employees, and enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Ensure integrity of production data to accurately reflect cost, consumption of materials, supplies, and inventories. Work with staff and other resources to develop improved methods for collection of production data.
  • Assist with, and at times, complete budget planning for future financial periods in line with pre-established company objectives.
  • Champion pipeline and other continuous improvement meetings and events to ensure all staff are supporting a culture and mindset of continuous growth within the business.
  • Establish strong customer relationships and work with key 3rd party customers to diversify the business product portfolio.
  • Assist with, and at times, lead contract negotiations, new business projects, and new product introduction meetings with both internal and external parties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Measures of Performance:

  • Maintain a culture of safety sustainment, striving for zero injuries with focus on driving DAFW/RT and TRIR metrics to zero.
  • Maintain a culture of zero defects, striving for zero customer escapes with focus on driving first pass yield and operator reported non-conformance metrics.
  • Maintain a culture of financial, legal, and ethical compliance, striving for zero SOX findings with focus on driving 100 on-time testing.
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, striving to beat entitlement targets for sales, productivity, cost improvement, and EBIT.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to lead a team of salary and hourly employees towards a target or objective, establish key milestones and progress checks along the way.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, relentlessly execute and deliver results in conformance with action plans.
  • Ability to apply lean manufacturing methodology, TOC, and problem-solving skills to drive the business improvements in a metric-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and use to schedule supply chain, parts, tooling, production, shipping/receiving of products
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering and manufacturing including communication techniques, production procedures, and resources relevant to the production products
  • Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people, material, and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership and teaming; and production methods.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or an engineering discipline. MS or MBA degree is highly desirable.
  • 5-6 years related experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $125,000 to $187,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
