GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position will develop, manage and monitor the production control processes and policies to assure on time delivery to customers and maintain efficient production levels. Position directs the operations of the shipping, scheduling, OSP, lab and purchasing areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Sales and Operation Plan and the MPS policies/procedures.
- Maintains the Master Schedule.
- Develop and manage sustainable outputs to ensure timely deliverables to our customers.
- Maintains fiscal year forecast, product families and planning bill of material and release production plan the master schedule.
- Analyze data, identify trends and makes judgments regarding manufacturing capacity, material availability and other variables.
- Manage the forecast consumption process and ensure coordination between Planning and Sales/Marketing Approve and monitor delivery dates and communicates with Sales/Marketing.
- Manage Supplier performance and develop process improvements.
- Schedules, monitors and reports production thru-put, open order, WIP, department budget status, critical parts, late to P.O., potential bottlenecks; and controls work-in-progress (WIP) inventory to an optimal level.
- Develops monthly WIP inventory plan; compares customer requirements to WIP plan and adjusts accordingly.
- Reviews the standard hours associated with planned output and historical efficiency; creates work force plan in conjunction with Manufacturing.
- Interfaces with Manufacturing and Quality to track the flow of product, test bars, source requirements, etc. through the respective departments.
- Interfaces and coordinates with the customer and relevant PCC Schlosser departments in the areas of planning, production, and shipping.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated abilities to interface with all levels of PCC and customers.
- Ability to work independently and/or under minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- Proven abilities to meet goals and strict deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP system with APICS terminologies and working procedures. APICS CPIM strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, multitask and work effectively in urgent situations.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated computer skills, including Windows, MS Word, and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or manufacturing technology, with minimum of five to seven years&39; experience in a related industry, and two to four years managerial experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate, write, type, operate office equipment and personal computer. Ability to climb stairs, stoop and reach to access materials. Ability to exert up to seventy-five pounds of force to move an object (lift 35 lbs).
