As the Main Line Manager (MLM) – Engine Center Operations, you will be accountable for overseeing a portfolio of production and service departments within our engine manufacturing operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team of supervisors across four shifts to deliver on business commitments, drive operational performance, and support strategic initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role where presence on the floor, employee development, and continuous improvement are critical to success.

This role is based in Lethbridge, Alberta — a thriving community of over 100,000 people. At our PT6 Center of Excellence, you’ll lead a team of over 150 employees in producing one of the world’s most successful engine families. Pratt & Whitney engines help save lives, support regional economies, and power many of the world’s passenger aircraft fleet and air forces globally. This position is full-time, with flexible hours in Lethbridge, and is exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors to execute safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations.
Ensure full compliance with EH&S policies and cultivate a proactive safety and risk-prevention culture.
Oversee on-time delivery, quality, and performance metrics for your production portfolio.
Manage daily floor presence—supporting, mentoring, and holding teams accountable to commitments and standards.
Resolve real-time operational challenges, provide resources, and guide teams toward consistent execution.
Drive accountability and build team capability through clear expectations, coaching, and feedback.
Lead difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy to promote individual growth and team alignment.
Champion and implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
Optimize the use of materials, equipment, and workforce through strategic planning and effective resource management.
Support the introduction of new products and digital tools to modernize operations.
Contribute to the business’s long-term strategy (1–5–10 years) by setting ambitious goals and identifying growth opportunities.
Manage labor relations effectively with transparency and consistency.
Own and manage an operational budget, identifying and executing opportunities for cost savings and productivity improvements.
Drive cross-functional collaboration to meet Plant 32 Roadmap objectives.
Foster a culture of innovation, ethics, and customer-first mindset across your area of responsibility.
Motivate and influence others to reach their full potential and contribute to a high-performing culture.
What do you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of people management experience, or Master’s degree with 7+ years in manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and competing priorities.
Strong relationship-building and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
Strategic thinker with sound decision-making skills and a track record of driving change.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital manufacturing tools.
Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset, with excellent written and verbal communication.
Resilient, adaptable, and results-focused with a positive and proactive mindset.
