Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.Reporting to the Manager, Aircraft Modification and Upgrade Programs, the Program Manager is responsible for collaborating with key Business Units within Air Canada Maintenance to establish effective program management structures, secure appropriate staffing and funding, and ensure the successful delivery of aircraft related programs and projects.
The Program Manager leverages a range of project management tools, techniques, and best practices to support the development and execution of implementation strategies, while maintaining strong oversight and control throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Air Canada Maintenance Business Units to ensure the successful planning, execution and delivery of projects aligned with business objectives. Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, structure, timelines, while implementing key project management functions including change management, issue tracking, risk mitigation, and status reporting.Provide strategic leadership and direction on project initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational priorities.Work with external advisors and internal teams to leverage best practices on project management tools and techniques.Coordinate with cross-functional managers to identify and resolve interdepartmental and inter-program challenges, particularly those impacting cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency.Develop and deliver clear, data-driven program updates using charts, dashboards, and other visual reporting tools to support informed decision-making.Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and integrating feedback into future project planning and execution.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree or MBA in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Project Management) or equivalent years of experience.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project and program Management is required. PMI Certification or the equivalent is considered an asset.Requires in depth expertise and knowledge of Program Management principles and techniques to propose and implement different types of solutions within Business Units. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide teams.Proficient with project management software and tools (e.g., Smartsheet) is preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.Airline operations experience is considered a strong asset.Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
