JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Regional Director of Clinical Operations is a professional representative of Survival Flight, Inc. and is responsible for overseeing the activities of multiple base locations and areas of operation within a set region. The Regional Director of Clinical Operations (RDCO) will work closely with the Base Clinical Managers (BCM) at each assigned location to provide guidance and assistance in resolving concerns as they are identified at the base level in a timely and professional manner. The RDCO should meet with and communicate regularly with the BCM as a supervisor over multiple locations. When appropriate, the RDCO should be able to delegate specific tasks to meet the goals and objectives of each individual base and the overall goals of Survival Flight, ensuring that the assigned region is performing efficiently and effectively. The RDCO must be very organized with attention to detail, can work independently, and does not require direct supervision to complete the job.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Directly supervises Clinical Base Managers in assigned regions.
• Promotes a positive image of Survival Flight to employees, customers, industry, and communities served by Survival Flight.
• When appropriate, collaborate with the BCM to develop a plan of action to resolve identified concerns.
• Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to BCM; meets with entire crews to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale for major changes.
• Participates in hiring and training new BCM for assigned regions.
• Regularly communicates with BCM regarding each base status and addresses any problems or potential problems.
• Working in conjunction with the V.P. of Medical Operations and the Dir of H.R., handles discipline and termination of staff in accordance with Survival Flight policy.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations for the BCM in assigned regions.
• Provides leadership to the assigned region, overseeing base operations.
• Responsible for reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of time/attendance records submitted by BCM at the operations base assigned.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, new technologies, and spanet conditions relevant to this industry.
• As required, actively participates in PR events scheduled within assigned region.
• Working with the BCM to limit crews overtime accrual through efficient monitoring/ management of work assignments.
• Whenever possible, attends each bases monthly clinical staff meeting.
• Works with the BCM and the V.P of Medical Operations to identify and address
inefficiencies and possible areas in need of improvement.
• Act as a sounding board, coach, and counselor for BCM when addressing staff management issues.
• Coordinates with other departments, such as human resources, finance, aviation, and clinical, to ensure successful operations of each base assigned.
• As needed, submit updates to the Survival Flights operations manual and policies.
• Works collaboratively with all BCMs in the assigned region along with the clinical leadership team, education team, and medical director to identify and correct clinical skill deficits, training deficits, and knowledge deficits.
• Attends Management Leadership Team meetings as directed.
• Responds to customer/community concerns and trends in customer/community satisfaction, both positive and negative.
• Actively and regularly participates in management team functions, policy and procedure development, and business development activities.
• In collaboration with the Clinical education department, develop a plan for integrating and training new staff into the operations area.
• In collaboration with the Clinical Leadership Team and Director of Education, develop and
provide performance reviews of employees at the operations area assigned.
• Face-to-face performance reviews with BCM will be conducted, and a written copy of the performance review and a plan of action for correcting any identified behavioral or clinical concerns will be included. A written plan is to be developed.
• Written copy of the annual review and documents related to action plans (PIP) and follow-up are to be forwarded to the VP of Medical Operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to travel and have own transportation for required meetings.
• Strong managerial and leadership skills.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• As needed, be available to fulfill all flight crew duties within the assigned job classification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate a computer/keyboard at least 2- 6 hours per day
• Regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to conduct activities requiring climbing, stooping, kneeling/bending, and reaching on a limited basis.

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

RCM SUPERVISES: Assigned Base Clinical Managers
