The Safety Manager will ensure compliance with 1 Vision Aviation’s safety programs to ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, EPA, and NFPA safety standards through the development of hazard mitigation procedures, identification of trends, and oversight of safety programs. Promotes and advocates the overall safety program of 1 Vision Aviation by maintaining regulatory compliance to ensure the safety of aircraft maintenance and painting processes.
Duties &Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, monitor, and update safety programs and processes
- Perform data analysis and trending of hazards
- Perform and coordinate incident, accident, and irregular operations event investigations.
- Manage and coordinate risk management and reduction strategies within the organization on a regular and ongoing basis
- Provide consultation, guidance and technical assistance on matters related to workplace safety and security
- Assist each department in establishing standards and developing controls or work processes
specific to departmental operations to minimize risks and eliminate hazards
- Maintain a company Risk Assessment matrix to establish safe levels of risk and update safety goals and objectives annually
- Establish a schedule, and ensure completion of, safety audits to meet FAA, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local regulatory requirements
- Ensure safety publications are consistent with governmental regulations and directives
- Determine the need for and coordinate development of required safety training materials prescribed by national, state, and local laws and regulations or industry best practices
- Manage the Company’s Emergency Response Program and training
- Manage hazardous material training and required reports
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of aviation safety programs
- Proactive mindset with ability to anticipate safety risks and develop preventive measures
- Self-starter who is highly motivated with strong initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision to meet company needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate others around safety initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify trends and patterns in safety data
Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in aviation safety operations, with demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance
- Prior health and safety training required
- Aviation safety and project management experience
- Experience performing health and safety risk assessments, performing audits, and developing and managing safety programs
- Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, EPA, and NFPA safety standards
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles and implementation
