Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Senior Project Manager, Military Programs to join our team based in Grand Prairie, TX.
The Bids and Proposals Specialist (Military) will lead enterprise efforts to establish, forecast, implement and monitor activities associated with logistic cost saving and process improvement initiatives in support of the Lakota Program. Coordinate activities across all departments, establish planning, provide risk assessment analysis, review budget, full implementation into the organization and validate cost savings monitoring post implementation. The Sr. Project Manager is expected to make best-in-class efforts to establish, implement and monitor activities associated with Lakota fleet. The Sr. Project Manager will coordinate all involved departments; establish, monitor and revise schedules and budgets; track and handle changes; support the writing of contracts and lead their execution; assess and mitigate risks.

Maintain documentation for regular reporting at Executive Staff Meetings, Information Exchange Reviews (IER) and other technical exchange meetings.
Act as the primary interface for implementation of Logistics projects throughout the Lakota team and across other organizations when required
Create and provide documentation in support of projects to ensure a smooth implementation throughout the organization. This includes training material and troubleshooting support

Develop project budgets with inputs from functional departments in MS Excel and MS Access Database
Verify inputs from functional departments using actuals from previous similar projects
Check overall validity of budget inputs
Adjust budget based on change orders (see contract management)
Gather costs and track budget expenditures
Technical understanding to identify cost saving opportunities

Track contractual changes, i.e. change order management – reflected in schedule and budget adjustments
Interpret contractual requirements
Create and propose value propositions, to include forecast, schedule and major achievements, for approval and execution of projects, identifying key opportunities for process improvement and cost savings to include customer requested changes, company-initiated product improvements, compliance with changing regulations and life-cycle cost reduction

Handle and coordinate Lakota projects as it relates to Logistic team efforts
Responsible for key strategic Lakota Program projects
The incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership with metrics in periodic reports. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving metrics such that leadership can easily identify the status of the program.
Coordinate with all support functions to ensure on time, cost and quality delivery.
Ensure compliance / update internal procedures accordingly.
Conduct regular reviews of performance indicators related to logistic activities and budgets.

A high level of integrity and an understanding of the importance of protecting the interests of the company while also assuring customer satisfaction is critical.
Must have financial experience to be able to budget this activity. (~$20M)
Ability to perform activity analysis, plan adjustment and financial control.
Technical knowledge to forecast and identify product improvements.
Strong leadership skills and be proactive.
Successfully works in matrix / cross-functional roles
Strong crisis management skills; and even stronger planning skills to prevent crises.
