Reports to: Senior Solution Lead
Join Cathay as a Solution Lead in our Business Intelligence Competency Centre (BICC) Solution Centre. You will provide subject-matter technical competence in designing, implementing, maintaining, and administrating the data blending, data analytics and visualization applications. You will also be responsible for defining solutions to bridge gaps and ensuring the project scope is maintained, and solutions implemented in line with design.

Key Responsibilities
- Capture and communicate business direction, challenges and requirements
- Analyze commercially and technically viable ideas to improve the business performance
- Design and build detail design and implementation of data blending, analytics and visualization tools for corporate use
- Build best practices for usage of data visualization tools and techniques; as well as for data presentation and sharing across multiple departments
- Govern the data visualization standards and usage are being maintained and implemented
- Support business stakeholder adoption of insights-driven decision making and analytics-enabled business process innovation
- Develop new approaches to improve overall system design and/or streamline delivery of product/system
- Focus on multiple medium to large scale initiatives. Initiate, define, plan and execute tasks / initiatives and then manage the day-to-day activities of the software development team and external 3rd parties as required
- Test all solution aspects including but not limited to security, performance, integration. Identify areas of risk and prepare strategies for mitigation for the projects
- Mentor Solution Analysts on any aspect of their role, contribute to team resource planning and Manage external 3rd parties as required
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline, Masters preferred
- 8+ years of related IT experience covering but not limited to:
- Software development
- System analysis
- Business analysis
- Solution definition
- System Testing
- At least 5+ years of experience in leading the implementation of data analytics and visualization tools and technologies with experience in agile development processes and data-driven development
- Technically strong in BI Development technologies and approaches, capable in articulate advantages and disadvantages of different technical approaches
- Experience in data blending, data analytics and visualization tools, preferably Alteryx, QlikView, QlikSense, Cognos, PowerBI
- Proven experience in applying Software Engineering best practices and techniques such as structured analysis, use cases and formal estimation
- Experience managing a software development team
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
- Proven troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
- Experience with utilization of outsourced and/or globally distributed resources
