The Sr. Production Manager is responsible for the capacity planning, scheduling, and manufacture of commercial specialty chemical products assigned to the facility. The incumbent is also responsible for the successful introduction of new products and processes in order to assure the efficient supply of quality products to customers. The Sr. Production Manager drives Continuous Improvement projects at the facility, is responsible for the overall production training program, and works to improve the safety of the workplace daily.

- Promote and improve safety performance in the department by providing appropriate training and feedback, identifying equipment needs and process changes, and changing behavior.
- Manage quality standards and process consistency to achieve first pass yield goals and minimize scrap losses.
- Directly supervise multiple supervisors (currently 7) with the potential need to indirectly supervise one or more technical support personnel.
- Indirectly supervise 125 to 150 operational employees on multiple shifts.
- Monitor the demand of chemical intermediates and assist in managing the scheduling and supply of products, effectively utilizing capacity, equipment, and human resources.
- Prepare operating and capital budgets, managing their activities related to actual production requirements.
- Manage the transition of new products and processes into commercial production.
- Develop, lead, and maintain a positive employee relations climate through effective communication and sound management practices in order to preserve the non-union environment of the facility.
- Measure department performance through a series of metrics, establishing Continuous Improvement plans to improve performance, while being prepared to present performance to the leadership team.
- Develop an effective training program for employees and assure that training goals are met within the department.
- Develop and lead all aspects of Operational Excellence for the department.
- Manage the operation of all production equipment in the facility while ensuring compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations.

Required
- 5-10 Years progressive leadership experience
Preferred
- 3 Years chemical manufacturing experience
Education
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
