What does this role look like?



The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program is seeking a high potential and high performing leader with relevant Program Management experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate pro-actively within diverse teams to support program performance execution excellence. FBM develops, designs, produces, maintains, and replenishes submarine-launched ballistic missiles capable of flying more than 4,000 nautical miles with a full payload.

FBM is a reliable program that has been a part of the United States for over 60 years with many years to come. As we enter the next phase of FBM there are large opportunities for growth and career development.

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:



You will serve as the Subcontracts Manager, Staff for FBM, and the duties in support of the program, include:

• Responsible for the overall management of supplier performance to include cost, schedule, and technical through leadership and interaction with a cross-functional team.
• Interface with suppliers as the focal point between the subcontractor/supplier program management team, and end customer, effectively communicating supplier health to all levels of management
• Help develop subcontract specifications, statements of work and negotiate requirements and scope.
• Initiate and manage the acquisition process from pre-solicitation (including researching and evaluating procurement sources), through the proposal process and PO placement, through to management of supplier performance and closeout.
• Research and evaluate procurement sources and qualification
• Primary Supply chain representative for all FBM program’s proposal phases
• Position organizes, plans, collects, reports, and oversees the Supply Chain Procurement input on all proposal activities to assure timely proposal submissions of all procured material, parts, assemblies, equipment, labor and travel, and in compliance with government regulations, RFP specifications and program commitments.
• Develops supplier RFP Letter templates for the subcontract items and leads central procurement proposal kickoff meetings
• Coordinates Cost Analysis scheduling and completions with the Evaluation Team.
• Participates in proposal walk-downs with management
and customer representatives as necessary, fact-finding
meetings and customer RFI responses
• Focal point for Post-Award audits of prior proposals.


Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college
• Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in Supply Chain Management (i.e… Procurement, Subcontract Administration, Subcontract Management, Negotiation, and/or Category Management)
• Previous professional experience leading negotiations with suppliers to ensure cost and schedule objectives are captured in contractual commitments
• Previous professional experience with the procurement and management of specialized materials, complex assemblies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of standard acquisition policies and procedures
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

No clearance is required to apply but an Interim clearance is needed prior to start.

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10+years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and contracting types
• In depth knowledge of all types of contracts and how to utilize which type in various program scenarios
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and changes in deadlines
• Experience with long-form subcontracts utilizing Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAP)
• Aerospace program negotiation skills and experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure
• Experienced presenter to Program Management and Customer representative
• Self Motived with a demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership, and accountability for tasks/assignments

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $74,700 - $143,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.
