The Supervisor, Base Operations guides a cross-functional airport crew to provide a safe, pleasant, reliable experience for our customers. The Supervisor inspires the crew to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitors daily operations at assigned airport locations to drive Operational Excellence.
- Reports on daily operational performance metrics.
- Conducts on-site audits and station visits.
- Serves as the liaison to Service Providers and Airport Partners.
- Ensures service provider maintains standards as outlined in the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and the contracted scope of work.
- Mentors and guides Station Managers.
- Communicates with airports regarding company updates including, but not limited to, flight schedules, Standards changes, procedures changes, and safety briefings.
- Provides initial, recurrent, and ongoing training to Crewmembers and managers including new hire orientation, Customer service training, ramp training, and management concepts training.
- Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of training and maintains accurate training records and files for all Airport Operations Crewmembers.
- Performs regulatory and operational compliance audits, ensuring conformity with all Avelo Airlines, FAA, TSA, DOD, DOT and other governmental agency regulations.
- Performs inspections of contractor activities such as GSE repairs, deicing services, and fueling services.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid US state drivers license
- Minimum of three (3) years of airline Station Operations experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably in the airline industry.
- Willing and able to become qualified and remain current in all responsible disciplines within 30 days including Ground Security Coordinator
- Functional knowledge of station operations and inter-departmental process flow.
- Ability to identify concerns or patterns and effectively problem solve while driving for excellence.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret analytical data and lead corrective actions as required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to influence performance.
- Ability to professionally respond to customer concerns and de-escalate situations as required.
- Ability to motivate and develop crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement.
- Independent judgment and sound decision-making skills
- Flexible schedule to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Frequent standing, walking, with the ability to reach, kneel, and climb.
- Ability to operate various equipment including but not limited to boarding ramps, tugs, belt loaders.
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
- Tolerance for exposure to various environmental conditions, heights, small spaces, and loud noises such as aircraft, vehicles, and other machinery.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, etc.)
