Responsibilities

The Supervisor of Inflight Operations (SOD) is responsible for responding to Flight Attendants operational needs on a 24-hour basis. This role focuses on listening to, caring for, and connecting with Flight Attendants to provide day-to-day operational support. This includes providing timely resolutions to scheduling, safety, logistics, and irregular operation (IROP) issues. In this role, the Supervisor will answer calls in an efficient, courteous, and accurate manner while assessing their needs and offering solutions.

  • Liaison with Crew Services, Airport, Dispatch, Maintenance, Flight Ops, and Guests to contribute to a smooth airline operation.
  • Represent Inflight Operations as directed in various meetings and committees (to include all daily operational calls).
  • Conduct wellness calls to ensure the well-being of crew and assist in addressing concerns. 
  • Follow up on guest complaints , ensuring they are addressed and escalated as necessary.
  • Respond to delays attributed to Inflight and Catering. This includes follow-up and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Provide support to the OCC by solving Inflight and provisional issues as a result of OCC decisions.
  • Provide support to all Flight Attendants with a 24/7 Help Desk support for incoming questions, comments, and concerns downline.
  • Provide timely and detailed briefings to leadership regarding emergency response, crew staffing, and Flight Attendant issues/concerns to uphold operational integrity.
  • Coordinate with other operational departments with investigation requests.
  • Monitor flight operations to ensure aircraft are serviced regularly by catering vendors.
  • Review the tail swap report on an hourly basis to identify aircraft catering and supply needs.
  • Request and follow up with vendors on catering needs.
  • Communicate additional confirmed catering with affected Spirit Airport Operations and crews.
  • Track catering requests and confirmations for billing purposes.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, change in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments.)

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent, Inflight or Aviation Operations experience

 

Experience

2 years Flight Attendant experience

 

Competencies

  • Inspire others, build relationships, think critically, and communicate clearly.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint and Word.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • High proficiency in data analytics using Microsoft Excel.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits, and uses eye/hand coordination, color definition.
  • Work under pressure of near 100 accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
  • Domestic & International travel by car and aircraft under 10 of time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
