Since 2018, we have significantly expanded our operations in Ireland, starting with a 2,700 sqm catering facility at Dublin Airport Logistics Park, employing over 60 people. In 2020, we opened a state-of-the-art 6,300 sqm facility in Dublin, quadrupling our capacity to deliver 40,000 inflight meals daily, supported by an agreement with Aer Lingus to provide catering at four Irish airports. As a Unit Manager for dnata Caterings Dublin operations, your primary responsibility is to lead the operational business unit in alignment with the companys strategic goals. This includes maintaining strict compliance with HACCP and Health & Safety standards, driving operational efficiency, enhancing service delivery, fostering staff satisfaction, and maintaining financial control.
In this role, you will
- Ensure implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and controls to ensure all procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Prepare and recommend departmental budget and monitors financial performance versus the approved budget.
- Develop and implement operational plans, ensuring contingency plans are developed and reviewed for effectiveness.
- Participate in the development of the service delivery standards to all customer airlines and other dnata business units in line with the Service Level Agreements and dnata’s operations objectives.
- Review and adjust the expenditure to ensure that the fluctuations in demand are met to deliver savings against budget and forecasts with regards to the resource management.
- Manage the development and succession planning within the department to ensure that there are qualified and suitable personnel to achieve the departments objectives.
- Act as the Accountable Manager for Security.
- Manage the use of outsourced labour to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective use of insourced/outsourced labour.
- Manage department projects to ensure successful delivery as assigned by the Operations Director.
- Ensure that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is a risk of exposure, role model safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant policies, procedures, and controls across the unit to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Ensure safety of all staff and that they possess the skills, knowledge, and confidence to work safely by providing support and acting as a role model for the desire safe behaviours.
- Manage effective achievement of departmental objectives through the managing of departments by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.
- Provide leadership to the Operations Manager and department Line Managers to ensure that strategic objectives are met.
- Manage the performance of direct reports to ensure that performance is measured against individual targets and the required training and coaching is provided.
- Provide periodic reports for both customer and internal use.
- Ensure network performance for key airlines and local airlines is maximised.
