The Value Stream Manager (VSM) is the Integrated Project Team leader within a production or depot manufacturing environment. The VSM will report to the Factory Manager and be accountable for the daily management and direction of a cross functional team which includes the Value Stream Lead (VSL), Production Support team (ME, PTE, IE, QE, PC) and Production engineering/test support team. The VSM will be tasked to generate and maintain clear operational schedules, priorities, goals while collaborating with functional management to allow for continuous manufacturing of line-flow or end-item products. Additionally, the VSM will have accountability for production, depot deliveries, failure investigation and triage, direction to salary production support and safety within their factory area.
This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. The candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a driven environment.
What You Will Do
- Collaboration and communication with upstream and downstream VSMs and leadership.
- Utilization of knowledge of manufacturing principles, manufacturing support team roles and responsibilities and manufacturing systems in support of initiatives, projects, improvements, and efforts.
- Perform a wide variety of sequencing, planning, scheduling, coordinating, failure triage support and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow.
- Compiling labor forecasts and Estimates at Compete (EACs) for the support employees.
- Strategic planning development for short term execution as well as long range planning
- Define and enforce priorities relating to safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Interact with support engineering, supply chain, and quality with respect to project schedules.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree of equivalent experience and a minimum of eight (8) years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
- Experience with Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
- Previous experience leading a direct team with specific deadlines, requirements, or deliverables.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering practices
- Knowledge of quality requirements relating to manufacturing environments
- Understanding of sequencing for fabrication, assembly, installation, testing and other manufacturing operations in relation to similar type of products or processes.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
