The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
The Fuel Distribution System Operator Lead FDSOL is responsible for ensuring fuel service operations are performed and to manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum-based products. The FDSOL provides oversight and advisor service for all POL operations, maintenance and quality assurance. FDSOL operates program-owned fueling and defueling equipment and assists in maintaining same.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensures the compliance with all applicable manuals e.g. ATP-4-43, rules and regulations as it pertains to safely handling and storing all POL products on site.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
- Approves or rejects work accomplished by team members as needed to ensure compliance with contract deliverables.
- Assists in maximizing program assets.
- Fuels Aircraft and performs regular quality control checks on aircraft equipment.
- Receive and stock bulk and package products. Issue and dispense bulk fuels from storage and distribution facilities to using entities.
- Select and submit samples to laboratory for testing as required. Testing will be completed on station with WASS fuel testing equipment.
- Maintain 100 percent serviceability and accountability of all assigned equipment to include consumables.
- Operate equipment that is used with petroleum and distribution systems and multi-product pipeline systems as required.
- Take samples and conduct tests on petroleum products.
- Evaluate test results with specification requirements and make recommendations regarding product disposition.
- Report findings in accordance with American Society for Testing, materials testing methods and site policy and procedures.
- Apply fire prevention and safety control procedures in handling volatile products.
- Be familiar with installation and operations of tactical petroleum storage. Will be prepared to provide standardized refueling support in non-standard environments.
