DescriptionOur Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.
Job overview and responsibilities
Aircraft routers are key operational roles in the NOC who are responsible for critical decisions ensuring the flight schedule is executed and maintained for operational excellence and minimizing disruptions to customers, internal and external partners. Routers ensure aircraft are planned appropriately to prevent and mitigate flight delays caused by aircraft availability. By monitoring current and future planned aircraft routings, Aircraft routers ensure flight schedule integrity by working collaboratively with operational teams and leaders to negotiate and influence operational performance.
- Closely work with NOC and other operations teams to develop and implement plans for United’s fleet of aircraft, for current and future operations such as scheduled flying, irregular operations, charters, special events
- Develops strategies with maintenance teams to route aircraft for planned and unplanned maintenance needs, enabling aircraft transitions,
- improving fleet health, and reducing possible disruptions due to aircraft availability
- Plan aircraft ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and performance restrictions
- Collaborate with stations to ensure efficient aircraft routings which support aircraft towing, parking, and servicing needs
NOTE: This position is based at the Arlington Heights facility in Arlington Heights, IL (NOC) and considered as an onsite work schedule.
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Associate degree or related experience
- 2+ years experience in an airline or leadership/teamwork environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to work environmental changes
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to form relationships and negotiate
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a broad range of support teams
- Ability to work under high-stress, complex and changing operational environment and multi-task
- Critical thinking and the ability to quickly evaluate operational situations and provide solutions
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be willing and able to travel a minimum of 10
- Must be willing and able to work onsite at the NOC located in Arlington Heights, IL
- Must be willing and able to relocate at your own expense if reside out of state (for external candidate)
- Must be able to work all shifts and holidays as required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $84,514.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
