We’re excited to announce the opening of applications for our UAE National Cadet Pilot Programme. These are incredible opportunities to join Etihad, in a time of growth and transformation, as we look for our next group of future male and female pilots to fly our new and expanding fleet of aircraft.
If you’ve always dreamt of a career as a pilot, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be trained to the highest industry standards and will develop the personal and professional capabilities to begin a successful flying career with us.
The Programme
You’ll need to commit to a structured two and a half year training programme to obtain the necessary flight qualifications, as well as participating in ground school, flight simulations and practical flying training. Etihad has a ‘Safety First, Always’ approach and a perfect record in safe flight operations, so this will be a key component of your training, ensuring you are trained in, and adhere to, safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements at all times. You’ll also receive mentoring and support from highly experienced instructor pilots throughout your training journey with us.
Funding and Salary
Successful candidates will receive a AED 5,000 monthly salary during their training for the first two years. Upon completing License Skill Test (LST), salary rises to AED 16,667 plus variable allowances for six months.
After completing line training under supervision (LFUS), salary increases to AED 24,000 plus variable allowances. Step increments for four years, capped at AED 34,000 per month.
Upon completing the required flying hours and obtaining the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), you will be promoted to Senior First Officer (SFO) earning a monthly salary of AED 39,853.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must have excellent English language skills and a strong motivation for a career as a pilot. You will need to:
- Be a UAE National
- Be aged between 18 and 29
- Have completed or been exempted from your National Service obligation (males only)
- Have completed a High School Diploma (or higher) and passing grades in maths and physics
- Have achieved a minimum English-language proficiency score of IELTS 5.5 or EmSAT 1250
- Demonstrate strong alignment with Etihad’s values
Selection Process
Candidates will undergo a medical assessment to ensure fitness to fly and pass aptitude testing designed to assess potential for a flying career. You will also meet with several members of our team who will evaluate your motivation and capabilities. We are looking for individuals with strong decision-making skills, clear and effective communication, and excellent teamwork capabilities. Additionally, candidates should be able to remain calm under pressure, have great attention to detail, and possess the ability to think laterally and solve complex problems.
