Summary:
Conduct tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance on aviation specific items.  Be able to perform job functions under limited supervision in laboratory, production area, clean room and test environments.  Supporting new projects by troubleshooting, inspecting and repair test and measurement equipment.
Essential Functions:
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance techniques interpreting blueprints.
  • Determine the kind of measurement tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on equipment and determine when and what kind of calibration and maintenance is needed.
  • Determine causes of measurement errors and decide what to do about the situation.
  • Apply measurement science principles to specific problems to produce answers.
  • Create and modify calibration procedures by determining metrology requirements.
  • Perform calibrations and measurements traceable to the International System of Units using appropriate reference standards.
  • Work with equipment users, engineers and other technicians in the proper operation and selection of test and measurement equipment.
  • Choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
  • Any additional tasks assigned by management in support of the position or company’s needs.
  • Be compliant with safety procedures and policies.
 
Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED and technical school or equivalent military training (metrology and mechanical inspection a plus)
  • 1-2 years; ASQ Certified Calibration Technician and ASQ Certified Quality Inspector rating is a plus.
  • Microsoft Suite; typing; read/write English; process oriented; team player; strong work ethic; works well under pressure in a dynamic environment; professional presentation; tactful; exercises independent judgement and discretion.  
  • Proficient with the English language to interpret and follow various technical data.
Pay range: $25.00 - 30.00 per hour
