Raytheon Australia works closely with the Australian Defence Force as its trusted capability partner to deliver some of the most complex and ground-breaking engineering and technology projects in the country.

Since 2011, Raytheon Australia have been contracted to deliver facilities services in support of the Harold E. Holt (HEH) Defence Precinct in Exmouth, Western Australia. Home to the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST), the C-Band Radar and Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio transmission capability, together these systems add a critical contribution to Australias space domain awareness and battlespace awareness missions.

Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking bright and energised Fire Fighter to join our inspired team on a fixed term basis.

To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated individual who is ready to work with a diverse, talented, and enthusiastic team on-site in Exmouth WA.

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Emergency Management, you will become an integral member of the Emergency Response Team and will assist the team to carry out asset maintenance duties on all fixed and portable fire systems and services.    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency incidents, rescue calls, and administer emergency medical aid if required.
  • Operate apparatus and assist in the suppression of fires.
  • Respond to hazardous material leak and/or spill incidents.
  • Conduct standby and rescue support for confined space entry, ventilation, and hot works as required.
  • Service and maintain fire equipment and ancillary apparatus to the relevant Australian Standard.
  • Maintain fire and rescue stations and grounds as directed.
  • Undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individuals skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • Plan and record work tasks in the asset maintenance management system.
  • Liaise with others, as required, to inform, and organise tasks to be undertaken.
  • Report incidents to a member of the Management team as a priority.
  • Undertake visitor / contractor escort duties.
  • Provide assistance for emergency situations and/or alarm failures, on an on-call basis, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Travel within Australia may be required to fulfil the requirements of this role.
  • Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements and within the technical competency of the position.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Requires a Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).
  • Operate Breathing Apparatus certification, or equivalent.
  • First Aid certificate (Provide First Aid).
  • Medium Rigid (MR) Driver’s License.
  • Extinguishing Agent Handling License (EAHL) – desirable.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to apply firefighting techniques and methods.
  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/ag with ability to satisfy ITAR material access compliance.
