Group fitness instructors lead groups of participants through safe, motivating, and effective exercise classes. They design or follow structured routines, demonstrate proper form, provide modifications for all fitness levels, and foster an energetic, inclusive community while ensuring the safety of all members
Responsibilities
Class Instruction:
- Plan and execute engaging workouts (e.g., HIIT, Tabata, Bootcamp) set to music or brand-specific choreography.
Participant Safety:
- Demonstrate correct exercise form, monitor equipment usage, and provide modifications for varying fitness levels and injuries.
Customer Service:
- Arrive early to set up equipment, greet members, answer questions, and build a welcoming community atmosphere.
Administration:
- Track class attendance, record participation, and maintain studio cleanliness before and after sessions
Qualifications
- Nationally accredited group fitness certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA, or NASM) is standard, alongside active CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- High energy, excellent verbal cueing, and the ability to motivate diverse groups.
- High school diploma.
- Valid state drivers license.
