Job Summary
The Head of Transport Services will work closely with the executive leadership and is responsible for developing and executing the critical business activities for Transport operations and transport growth at all AU airports.
This pivotal role in delivering strategic outcomes and optimum performance and profitability for the AU Transport services region in line with the broader Swissport Group strategy.
This role leads the growth and operations of Transport services business in AU as well as providing the designated business services.
Your activities
- Create a positive safety culture that includes strong safety reporting / Just Culture and that aims for being a generative safety culture
- Develop strategies to grow the transport services business
- Develop and implement operational and growth strategy for Transport services and evaluating financial outcomes and opportunities
- Construct operating budgets, resource plans (workforce, equipment and facilities) and reports to deliver the business strategy
- Ensure strong partnerships with airlines and airports to ensure delivery is met in accordance with commercial requirements and grow the business
- Developing people capability, with a core focus on leadership development, succession planning and talent management
- take accountability and find efficiencies to reduce costs that drives productivity and ensure the business meets financial targets
- Ensure operational structure aligns to Swissport Global standards, complying with Australian regulatory and quality standards and key functional requirements to provide the most effective solutions to our customers
- Identifying improvement strategies against industry, contractual, regulatory and internal measures, including improved performance in terms of cost and waste elimination
- Develop, evaluate and review business optimization opportunities and drive implementation across the APAC business
- Ensure the training strategy supports Swissport and our clients to achieve the required levels of capability, safety, compliance and operational performance as effectively and efficiently as possible
Your profile
- Tertiary qualifications in Aviation or transport related field
- In depth knowledge of industry trends and developments and how they can be strategically employed to drive success of the business
- Demonstrated experience working as a part of a business unit leadership team and contributing to the delivery of business strategy
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to shift gears between strategic thinking and detail-oriented tasks continually to drive business results forward
- Excellent business acumen with the ability to pull together data to analyse and make recommendations;
- Superior relationship skills
- Experience in a fast-paced, service operation managing the needs of multiple clients with divergent requirements
- Ability to be successful in a dynamic, multi-cultural, and geographically distributed matrix organization
- Advanced project/portfolio management skills
- Practical knowledge of industrial relations processes including the full range of people management activities
- High level numerical and verbal reasoning, problem solving, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- High-level personal qualities in relation to adaptability, flexibility, commitment, ability to apply sound judgment and reasoning, and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks
- High-level administrative and planning skills
