UnspecifiedWe are presently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Human Resources Generalist. This individual will play a critical role in providing advice and support in all areas of HR such as recruitment, onboarding and orientation, employee retention, employee relations, benefit and pension management, performance management and development, etc. They will have the experience to take the lead in the areas of group benefits and pensions, disability and leave management as well as the maintenance of the HRIS system for the division and coordination with payroll.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day benefit and pension administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Assist employees with benefits related inquires and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Participate in contract renewals, program determinations and spaneting exercises for benefit and pension plans.
- Manage the disability and leave programs.
- Coach and mentor managers and employees, empowering them to maximize their potential and contribute to organizational success.
- Provide high-quality advice and service to managers on daily employee relations and performance management issues.
- Assist in the development and updating of local HR policies and procedures and provide guidance to employees and leaders to ensure compliance.
- Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries, conducting thorough investigations and providing effective solutions to employee relations issues.
- Participate in the full recruitment process, covering all elements from the initial request to hire through to an offer of employment.
- Conduct employee orientations.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Promote career development tools and resources.
- Complete employee data changes within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and notify payroll of changes affecting payroll (i.e. bonuses, reimbursements, changes in benefit entitlements, etc.)
- Assist with adhoc reporting requirements and presentations.
- Other HR duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive HR generalist experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related or equivalent experience
- Professional HR Designation (CPHR) is preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment laws
- Good working knowledge of benefit/pension plans and related principles and practices
- Proficient MS Office skills and experience working with HR business applications and systems, such as Workday, benefit databases, and applicant tracking systems, or similar database and tools
- Effective time management, prioritization skills, and the ability to manage ongoing workload demands of both planned and unplanned projects and requests
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
