The Detection Dog Handler utilizes a single-purpose explosives detection dog to conduct searches and inspections of vehicles, facilities and open areas.  

• Maintain canine and handler records in accordance with Air Force Instructions.
• Man, static explosive detection posts at base entry control points, and alarm response mobile posts as required across the installation.
• Perform care and feeding tasks associated with K9 upkeep
• Performs other related duties as required. 

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be 21 years of age. 
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Must possess a current TN Armed Security Guard/Officer License.
• Possess a valid state drivers license. 
• Must be able to maintain qualification and authority to carry firearms. 
• Must successfully complete pre-employment fitness test and annual fitness test thereafter, consisting of: 200 meter run Sit-ups: 20 repetitions Push-ups: 25 repetitions 1-Mile Run/Walk: < 12 minutes.

Desired Qualification:

• Previous experience as a military or civilian police detection dog handler.
• Three-years of experience as in military police or law enforcement.
