Job Summary

The Allegheny County Airport Authority’s Legal Internship position will expose the student to the Legal Department, working in areas of airport/aviation law, commercial contracts, and real estate development.

Here is how the Legal Intern will help:     

• Research case law, statutes, regulations, and other legal materials on topics including airport/aviation law, municipal law, real estate development, public records laws, and commercial transactions;  
• Recommend sound, accurate, and practical advice, opinions, and solutions regarding issues and risks relating to the ongoing and rapidly expanding business of Allegheny County Airport Authority;
• Assist attorneys with preparation and drafting a wide variety of sophisticated commercial contracts including licensing/vendor agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, professional services agreements, and/or other related contracts with third parties and vendors;
• Facilitate clear communication, evaluations and reporting of legal matters;
• Communicate with inhouse counsel and internal clients regarding policies, risks, and legal implications of proposed transactions or projects, and confirm that the same are in compliance with the organization’s structure, policies, and procedures;
• Assist in compiling records and information for on-going litigation matters;
• Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Requirements to apply for role of Legal Intern are:

• Must currently be enrolled at a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and must have completed two years of law school (i.e. must be a rising 3L).
