NSS has more than 50 years of experience in net shaped cold forged products with extensive in-house engineering design and production capabilities. We are part of a multi-billion-dollar aerospace component manufacturer named Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC).

As a Machine Header Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production, troubleshooting machine issues, and collaborating closely with our production team to meet quality and production targets. Join us and embark on a one-year training program designed to help you develop expertise in header operation. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working in a manufacturing plant environment and possess the technical skills and knowledge to excel in this position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction
  • Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications
  • Correctly interpret work orders
  • Lift up to 35 lbs
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed
  • Sets up and operates machines that automatically perform multi-operations such as roll threading and/or heading to produce fasteners, such as bolts and rivets from hot or cold metal rod or wire
  • Starts machine to begin production and observes machine operations for evidence of malfunction and products for defects
  • Using measuring instruments to ensure and record quality information
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot any machine issues
  • Work closely with the production team to meet quality and production goals
  • Participate in a one-year training program to develop expertise in header operation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and physically demanding work setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality output.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to machine maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
  • The ability to use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators
  • Basic computer skills.
  • The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions.
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the job with or without accommodation.
