TASK DESCRIPTION:

The Missile Technician will be in direct support of the OIC of the MMRF and the MMRF Manager/Advisor. The Missile Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the oversight and enhancement of all KAF programs and other issues related to the Missile Program. The Technician will be responsible for all activities related to the Missile Maintenance Program, including meeting contract requirements and training KAF technicians assigned. Ensuring that relationships between subordinates and the customer are professional and harmonious at all times. Responsibilities also include assisting in the development of all required Ordnance Safety instructions, SOP, and program management. The Technician shall provide program advice based on OPNAVINST 8000.16 Series, NAVSEA OP-5, Missile Maintenance publications/instructions and any other ordnance publication pertaining to Missile safety/maintenance.

TASK REQUIREMENTS:

Assist the Lead Missile shop Technicians in revising and updating the KAF Missile Maintenance Program and other applicable directives, including implementation and monitoring to include development of all required weapons safety/maintenance programs, facilities planning and management. Assist the Lead Missile shop Technicians in the establishment of training and safety programs for KAF Missile shop Technicians. Provide training and guidance to KAF personnel assigned to the MMRF. Assist in preparing briefing papers and correspondence for the Lead Missile shop Technicians as required or requested. Assist the Lead Missile shop Technicians in the development and publication of policies and procedures that are required to maintain and administer the Missile Maintenance Program. Provide input to the Lead Technician for meetings. Ensure enforcement of and compliance with USN, KAF and Company directives as appropriate.

MINIMUM PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS:

Shall have three (3) years experience in positions related to Missile Maintenance and material support, one year of which is desired to have been at a Mobile Maintenance Facility, Depot Missile Facility or Weapons Test Facility field site or secondary locations. Shall possess significant experience in production and maintenance operations. Must have served in the USN, USMC or USAF as an E-5 or above or GS-4/9 with experience in explosive safety and computer skills. Must be a US Citizen. A US Secret Security Clearance is required.
