How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Enterprise Solutions (ES) is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and talented Operations Research (OR) Scientist to join a team that is responsible for optimizing Deltas revenue offers. The OR scientist will collaborate on designing, delivering, and maintaining proprietary optimization products that result in improved customer offers and increased revenue for Delta Air Lines. The role partners across Digital, Revenue Management, Pricing, Global Pricing Distribution, Operations Research, IT, and vendors to identify opportunities, define requirements, provide insights, prototype products, and deliver end-to-end solutions. Responsibilities:Understand the interrelationships between Schedules, Pricing, and Revenue Management, and the combined impact on the Delta Customer experienceIdentify commercial opportunities that can be addressed by developing data sources, methods, tools and models to optimize Delta revenue, including statistics and optimization modeling Enhance existing analytical tools and develop new solutions/tools based on large data setsOwn and deliver end-to-end solutionsPromote the long-term customer offer vision that supports Deltas business strategy as the spanetplace evolves and new products are introducedActively develop close relations and coordinate with commercial business units, Operations Research, Finance, IT and senior management to ensure timely execution of ES sponsored projectsMaintain a pulse on industry efforts and disruptive technologies, and champion solutions to further Deltas position as industry leaderBalance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Masters degree or equivalent in operations research, statistics, computer science, or related science field.Highly proficient communication skills and ability to actively advocate for ES solutions across the enterpriseExperience with data scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R etc.) and optimization software (e.g. Gurobi, Xpress, or Cplex.). Experience using one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, C, etc.). Experience with big data: processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities of data.Proven success in modeling complex quantitative problems, especially using MIP. Must have the ability to work well with diverse groups in a time sensitive and team environment with minimal supervision, be results oriented and capable of meeting or exceeding deadlines with attention to detail and follow through.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects through to solution delivery.Strong focus on building team culture and driving collaboration across the broader organizationMust be performing satisfactorily in present position.Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
