Job Summary

Performs manual grinding and polishing on Aerospace engine blades. Inspects own work using a variety of standard inspection methods as well as dedicated gaging. Able to work in a group environment, be dependable and detail oriented. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Able to create an outside radius with airtools
  • Able to improve micro in fillet radius with deburring and finish wheel
  • Able to remove machine tool marks, belt scratches, and also repair blends as needed on platforms, shrouds, radii and airfoils
  • Removes machine tool marks, inspects thickness (using gauges) and repairs oversize conditions as required by operation sheets. Controls blends, stock removal and micro finish with use of proper wheel durometer and belt grits
  • Able to remove cutter marks, repair oversize and/or undersize conditions and relocate radius to existing airfoil. Usually used on small parts or hard to belt areas
  • Knows basic mathematics
  • Ability to read gauges to determine if part meets specifications
  • Set up equipment with proper polishing belts and wheels
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to use basic tools (Hand tools, Pnuematic tools, etc)
  • Basis Mathmatics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams
  • Ability to read CMM Inspection reports
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Experience Standard operating procedures, work orders, and operation sheets
  • Ability to communicate well in English (both written and verbally)
  • Familiarity with the use of measuring devices

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and walking (5hrs/day)
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 30lbs.
