Job Description SummaryAs a Principal Software Architect – M365 for the GE Aerospace Digital Workplace team, you will be responsible for working closely with the broader Digital Workplace organization to drive the development and deployment of key productivity, collaboration, and engagement tools across the organization in a seamless, contemporary, and modern way. Working under the leadership of our Sr. Director of Engineering and Architecture, you will design, develop, deploy, and maintain our Microsoft 365 ecosystem for GE Aerospace. Essential Responsibilities:
- Define a technology strategy and roadmap in partnership with engineering, product, and operational leadership for software programs that enable GE Aerospace’s Digital Workplace ecosystem
- Architect, design, and manage deployment of collaboration, productivity, device orchestration, mobile device management, business process tooling, data visualization, and intranet and document capabilities across the M365 ecosystem
- Build scalable architecture that can be deployed across several M365 tenants to meet or exceed regional regulatory requirements
- Support GE Aerospace’s separation into a standalone company by understanding the as-is product portfolio and develop a to-be vision for the future state of the Digital Workplace
- Lead and coordinate domain-specific technical and business discussions relative to the future architecture direction across the Digital Workplace product portfolio
- Act as a key decision-maker for all technology and architecture decisions across the product and services landscape
- Produce, review, and present architecture artifacts to articulate vision and obtain buy-in from key stakeholders and Enterprise Architect peers
- Serve as subject matter expert on best practices for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Work closely with operations teams to monitor and optimize system performance through continuous iterations of application and solution refactoring
- Ensure designs meet or exceed cybersecurity and compliance requirements to hold GE Aerospace sensitive data
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience
- A minimum of 7 years of experience developing enterprise software is required
- Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience delivering Microsoft 365 capabilities in a large enterprise (e.g. 50,000 user+) environment is strongly preferred
- Prior experience administering multiple Microsoft 365 technologies including Purview, SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerBI, PowerApps, Power Automate, InTune, and Exchange
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security features, including data loss prevention (DLP/Purview), conditional access, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Demonstrated experience with delivering M365 architecture and deployment plans for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations (e.g., CMMC, ITAR, GDPR) and how to implement them within Microsoft 365
Business and Leadership Expertise:
- Prior experience with Digital Workplace services is a huge plus
- Demonstrate very strong technical leadership skills including solid communication and analytical skills with a thorough understanding of software development
- Able to balance value propositions for competing stakeholders and develop recommendations that meet all needs in a matrixed organization
- Able to develop software for simultaneous, complex projects
- Ability to determine how to integrate disparate systems effective to optimize operational processes
- Demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills
- Solid communication skills at all levels of the organization
- Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
- Ability to evaluate technology to drive features and roadmaps, mapping technology trends to internal vision and strategy
The base pay range for this position is $150,800-$251,300. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on February 21st, 2025.
