Job Summary:
The Production Trainer will lead in driving and providing on-the-job training primarily related to manufacturing and assembly processes at the Lynnwood site for the production assemblers and/or technicians. Develop, maintain, and update training plans. They will evaluate training effectiveness as part of the operations organization report on training needs and training resources.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring new hires and transfers complete their training plan
- Builds training plan based on Production supervisor input of where associate will be working
- Schedules training (classroom or OJT) based on Production Lead input
- Coordinates required classroom training with Training Specialist
- Monitors training effectiveness and modifies Training plan accordingly
- Gives feedback to Production Lead and Supervisor on Trainee efficiency and qualifications achieved
- Releases Trainee as independent to the Production Lead upon completion of Training Plan
- Ensures timely completion of all area training requirements
- Executes cross training plans as directed which are in alignment with Value Stream initiatives
- Execute re-training to bring associates up to efficiency standards
- Maintain a professional relationship with all co-workers
- Escalate personnel issues to the supervisor of the area and uphold confidentiality
- Proactively communicate problems and assist in their resolution
- In the absence of the supervisor, should be able to determine priority in delivery
- Ability to communicate effectively by email, IM, Phone, etc.
- Assured that the work produced in the cell is consistently in compliance with policies, regulations, and the appropriate documentation
- Assure that all associates are performing their tasks in a safe manner and are abiding in the area’s safety guidelines
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
- Ability to fill in for Production Lead as needed
- Ability to fill in for online training (Convergence) admin as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience working in a production setting
- Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Skills/Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required. Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness.
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- IPC Soldering and/or Rework/Repair Certification
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
- Standing: 25 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
- Sitting: 75 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
- Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds
- Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds
- Mental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses, computers
- Workspace (line, cube, etc): assembly cell and training room
Top Benefits:
Salary range: $26.72 to 37.30. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
