POSITION: Purchasing Agent/Stores Clerk
This full-time position works as part of the Grant Aviation maintenance team to ensure that our fleet is safe and runs efficiently. The position performs purchasing, inventorying, and shipping and receiving functions. As a Purchasing Agent, you will work closely with the Maintenance Parts Manager and team to ensure coordination of parts and other materials in a safe and timely manner. This position is based in Anchorage, AK and may occasionally require travel to outlying bases.
Are you interested in:
- Purchasing and maintaining spares, stock, and tools for Company aircraft in a clean and orderly fashion and in accordance with Company procedures.
- Communicating via phone and email with sales and technical personnel of vendors in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Negotiating financially sound aircraft parts purchases
- Maintaining adequate records, as required by applicable regulations, to show the condition of spares, stock and tools.
- Coordinating with the Manager of Purchasing and Stores in maintaining proper stock levels.
- Cross-training for the position of Purchasing Agent, Stores Clerk, and Expeditor, and perform the duties of each position when needed.
You ideally possess:
- 2+ years of purchasing experience
- Previous experience in an aviation parts and stores environment preferred
- Current Drivers License (Prefer applicants 25 years of age or older due to insurance requirements)
- Ability to pass a DOT background check with no criminal history or disqualifying offenses in the last ten years to acquire a SIDA badge
- Knowledgeable in utilizing computers to perform typical office tasks such as Microsoft Office, maintaining logs, inventories and purchasing records.
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Ability to lift and/or move 70 pounds as well as stand and walk for long periods of time
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
