Job Summary
As our QHSE Assistant you will be responsible for offering essential administrative assistance to the QHSE team and broader operations.
This role involves supporting risk management activities (HIRA), safety training and promotion, safety planning, compliance reporting, data analysis, document management, assurance programs, emergency response, incident investigations, continual improvement and administrative tasks.
The QHSE Assistant plays a key role in fostering a safety-focused culture and ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors and clients.
Your activities
In this role as the QHSE Assistant, you will provide support to:
- QHSE Team.
- Risk management program.
- Continual improvement processes.
- Development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
- Support developing projects.
- Proactively identify operational weaknesses through analysis/diagnosis of performance information/feedback and implement preventative corrective actions.
- Strive for excellence.
Role responsibilities
- Daily network incident report review and reporting.
- Maintain and develop hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) framework.
- Provide guidance and assistance to managers to assist in achieving defined key performance criteria including but not limited to systems, audit performance and compliance, and operational safety performance.
- Support workplace and incident investigations through root cause analysis, participate in site safety audits and investigations.
- Trend analysis, safety performance and Injury Management reporting.
- Safety training and promotion.
- Document control.
- Regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and publish customer publications as required.
- Participating in Emergency Repones exercises.
- Meet internal and external KPIs (including data reporting).
- Capability to travel domestic and internationally.
- Continual improvement and administrative tasks.
Your profile
Experience in a workplace safety role and or professional qualifications, or similar profession is required.
This role would be suited to a recent graduate with a degree in Safety or Aviation to kickstart their career, or similarly, an individual who already has experience in a workplace safety role or a similar field.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow and develop in the safety industry.
It would be desirable to have the following experience / qualifications:
- Direct aviation ground operations experience.
- Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand aviation regulations, and airport and airline operational policies and procedures.
- Understanding of WH&S framework, practices, and principles.
- Contractor Management experience.
- Deliver safety induction training to managers.
- Document control/ management.
- Tertiary qualifications (desired).
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) or Aviation equivalent.
- Incident investigation.
- Quality Auditing.
- Risk Management.
- Working knowledge with ISO.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and database applications skills.
