TITLE:
Quality Assurance Technician
REPORTS TO:
Quality Control Supervisor
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The individual will complete visual and mechanical dimensional inspections of assigned parts to be delivered to our customers. Will read blueprints and drawings and use inspection equipment to verify dimensions to drawings. Will complete material testing which includes use of tensile machine. Will identify non-conforming parts for corrective action. Will be trained and fill in as x-ray inspector when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dimensionally inspects parts using engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Will complete first article inspections, in-process inspections and final inspection of all parts and assemblies against blueprints and job travelers to ensure that our products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Will perform material testing which includes use of tensile machine.Will identify, segregate and report all non-conforming materials and parts for prompt corrective actionWill complete internal audits in support of ISO 90001:2000, AS9100:2001 and Nadcap requirements. Performs all inspection and testing duties following the company’s established procedures, work schedules, quality standards, safety standards and best practice.Maintains a clean and tidy work area and puts all equipment in proper place at end of shift. .Completes all required paperwork and forms in an accurate and timely manner.Participates in team meetings with manager.Corrects unsafe work situations and near misses immediately and seek assistance if needed.
- Performs job duties safely with goal of no accidents or injuries to self or others.
- Reports problems and concerns to Quality Manager or appropriate individual.
- Follows all of the company’s policies, procedures and work rules.
- Performs other duties in response to manufacturing/organizational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have willingness to learn and master all inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and x-ray machines.
- Must be willing to learn to program and operate a CMM.
- Must possess strong mathematical skills and be able to do basic mathematical calculations.
- Must have ability to read blueprints and other engineering drawings
- Must possess excellent attention to detail.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be self motivated and be able to execute daily tasks with minimal supervision and within an assigned schedule
- Must be able to safely operate any equipment and tools required to perform job duties.
- Must possess strong computer hardware and software skills to complete data entry of information, create spreadsheets, reports and other word processing documents.
- Must be team oriented and have a commitment to provide internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to handle a high volume work load and changes in scheduled work in a calm and professional manner
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for up to 85 of work shift.
- Must be able to work overtime, all shifts, and weekends if necessary.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands inherent in this job description.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening including a vision test for color perception
- Must work overtime when needed which may include weekends and time on other shifts
