Pay Rate: $32.44 – $39.46 per hour
Help Chronicle the Legacy of Aerospace InnovationPDS Tech Commercial is seeking a detail-driven and passionate Reference Archivist to support one of the most respected teams in the aerospace industry. This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated Historical Services and Archives Team committed to preserving and sharing the stories, documents, images, and artifacts that define aviation history.
In this role, youll not only safeguard historical materials, but also serve as a trusted resource for engineers, communicators, executives, and enthusiasts seeking to uncover and celebrate the milestones of aerospace excellence.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
What You’ll Be DoingProvide Reference Support: Research and respond to internal and external requests for historical data, technical facts, and corporate milestones using archival databases, libraries, and internet resources.
Manage Inquiries: Serve as the primary contact for the team’s group inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to research requests.
Arrange Historical Materials: Organize photographs, digital files, artifact records, and film collections in accordance with archival best practices and internal policy.
Catalog and Describe Assets: Enter descriptive metadata, keywords, titles, and reference points into archival systems to support retrieval and long-term preservation.
Ensure Information Compliance: Act as the focal point for document retention, supporting alignment with organizational historical services policies.
Support Storytelling: Assist with written content and articles that spotlight heritage moments, significant figures, and company milestones.
What You Bring to the TeamRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in History, Archival Studies, Library Science, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in archival research, cataloging, and preservation.
Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong written communication skills, especially in research summaries and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in History, Archival Science, or a related discipline.
Experience working across large, matrixed organizations and supporting various departmental stakeholders.
Interest or background in aerospace or technical history.
Knowledge of metadata standards and archival description best practices.

Pay Details: $32.44 to $39.46 per hour
