SOFTWARE ENGINEER LABVIEW or LABWINDOWS

TEST SYSTEMS SOFTWARE ENGINEER – CONTRACT 6 MONTHS – EDINBURGH Scotland

We are looking for an Engineer to join the Radar Test Equipment delivery team at Leonardo in Edinburgh. In this role, you will be involved in the development of solutions performing various types of testing, from design verification through acceptance to repair on one of our Antenna products.

AT THE COAL FACE / TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, integrate and deliver SW packages performing design verification and production tests on Antenna and sub assemblies.
• Generation of supporting documentation.
• Coding.
• Integration and investigation.
• Formal testing.
• Test result analysis.
• Release.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU / SKILLS / PROVEN ABILITY

Proven ability designing solutions using the following development environments:

1. NI Labview
2. NI Labview RT FPGA
3. NI LabWindows/CVI

• Have the ability to analyse system level documents and derive detailed unit requirements under own initiative.
• Be able to communicate effectively across different disciplines both verbally and in written form.

DESIRABLES

• Well-rounded engineering experience in all phases of the Product Life Cycle across several projects and preferably in a number of engineering domains.
• Be able to interface with suppliers of key components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of Requirements management tools such as DOORS
• Ability in designing solutions for one or more of the following technologies:

1. Radio Frequency/Microwave/Array
2. Digital and/or Analogue
3. Power Supplies
4. High Speed Digital Interfacing
5. Common interfaces i.e. RS422, 1553, I2C/SPI, Ethernet
