What does the role look like?
As part of the Stress Analysis team the role will be engaged in supporting design and development of Flight Control Systems (Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical) and Pneumatic Valves from the concept phase to the detail phase. Address issues resolution in a team-working environment. Prepare, review and maintain the structural documentations and analyses necessary to support product development and industrialization.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
- Support the Project Leader to manage structural aspects interfacing with customers and suppliers.
- Execute components stress analysis from preliminary design (BID) to final design (CDR) of new jobs using classical hand calculation and FEA methods.
- Execute specific task stress study to support Engineering Change and material obsolescence.
- Execute corporation standard work and best practice on specific structural topics.
- Execute development/qualification structural tests in collaboration with V&V and Laboratories teams
- Prepare reports on performed job using concise technical language to support internal review or Customer meetings.
- Collaborate on culture for continuous improvement inside the job team
What will you bring to the role?
Desirable skills:
- Master degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with structural discipline orientation.
- Required 3 years of experience in the role, preferred in aerospace environments.
- Competencies:
- ANSYS Workbench: familiarity with static and dynamic tools
- Microsoft Office™: familiarity with all tools
- Knowledge of classical stress analysis including static, fatigue, and vibration
- Knowledge of Aerospace Materials (MMPDS) to select appropriate allowable
- Knowledge of Gears and Machine elements analysis
- Knowledge in Crack Growth Damage Tolerant and CFD analysis
- Preferred Competencies:
- SpaceClaim for ANSYS Workbench
- ANSYS Workbench Thermal Analysis
- ANSYS Fluent CFD tool
- KissSoft™ tool for dimensioning and verify gears, shafts, bearing
- NASGRO™ tool for crack growth analysis
- NX cad tool
- TeamCenter ™ - Siemens PLM tools
