Purpose of the positionFollow-up & coordination on technical troubleshooting requirements in the daily operation of the Brussels Airlines fleet whilst taking ownership of non-standard troubleshooting or complex technical irregularities. Monitor aircraft & predictive systems to prevent recurrency, negative trends or AOG risks.
The Trouble Shooter, reports to the CAMO MCC Manager (functional) & to the P145 Planning Manager (disciplinary)
Your responsibilities
- Performs trouble shooting services in accordance with the MOE, CAME, Pro X, OEM data & in compliance to NAA & EASA regulations.
- Ensures communication links between the P145 Operation Manager, MCC Manager, Maintenance Controller (MCC), Engineering, Planning, Training & Maintenance Engineers.
- Performs ad-hoc and in-depth troubleshooting with a systematic approach (eg. ad-hoc shop visit report screening).
- Provides technical assistance to flight crew and maintenance staff.
- Coordinates all received information regarding technical problems in the daily operation
- Monitors A/C Systems using specific tools (eg. Aviatar, FDM data, ECTM, Labo results), post flight reports & open workorders, to discover negative trends, recurrency or AOG risks.
- Close follow-up & in-depth screening of MEL Items for next troubleshooting steps.
- Create, follow-up & solve troubleshooting cases for individual aircraft and repetitive problems, as required
- Support the engineering department with field experience.
- Follow-up of ‘Electronic Pending Shelf’.
- Brief/debrief line maintenance engineers & mechanics concerning technical problems and actions therefor
- Monitors troubleshooting actions performed by maintenance
- Recommends and/or supports improvements in close cooperation with Engineering
- Takes over troubleshooting ownership in case of non-standard or complex technical irregularities
- Records new or complex problems with a final resume (Technical Case Manager)
- Reports deficiencies or developing fleet wide problems to Engineering.
- Reports deficiencies in the daily operation to the MCC Manager & Maintenance Controller.
- Reports organisational, training & development deficiencies within the Troubleshooting department to the P145 Planning Manager.
- To participate in the continuous improvement process via your superior.
Your profile
- Bachelor degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering OR equivalent relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (EASA Part 66 License)
- Minimum 5 years of B1/B2 (OR equivalent relevant) experience
- Good knowledge of EASA Part M, Part-145, Part-66
- Holder of (active) aircraft type ratings operated by Brussels Airlines is a plus
- Good communication skills, ability to prioritize, ability to work independently or as part of a team, reliable and motivated, good time management skills
- Comprehensive negotiation & communication skills in English (written & spoken)
- Very well developed analytical skill (problem solving)
- Ability to approach a situation/problem in a structured, methodical & logical way
- Operational awareness
- Able to work under time pressure
- Excellent decision making skills
- Strong personality
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications
- AMOS knowledge is a plus
