Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Writer Editor - Technical Communications (Level 4) to join our Design Technical Excellence Team based in Everett, WA.
As a Senior Writer Editor, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to draft and revise engineering content, ensuring the production of polished, professional, and timely materials. Additionally, you will support updates and improvements to processes that benefit the Structures organization.
Position Responsibilities:
Leverages technical writing skills to develop comprehensive command media and documentation strategies for Structures, improving our ability to navigate, comply with, and change process requirements and instructions.
Supports all BCA programs by developing and deploying an efficient information architecture to streamline process and technical documentation (e.g. PROs/BPIs/BPGs, enterprise and BCA ‘Book 0’, Design Manuals, stress and certification documents), updating SharePoint and Community of Practice postings, editing and posting Design Practice content, and similar.
Follows wide-ranging requirements and instructions to use numerous document management systems (e.g. OnePPPM, PSDS, DMS, BDPT, technical library, electronic coordination sheet library, and SharePoint for writing collaboratively with teams).
Coordinates with multiple disciplines to advance Structures’ efforts to simplify information architecture content delivery and configuration management.
Partners with technical Records and Information Management (RIM) focals.
Seeks out new document authoring, search tools, and techniques to advance our capabilities in collaboration with Enterprise AI and other pathfinder teams.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (Everett, WA).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
10+ years of experience in technical writing and editing.
Experience as a self-starter with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at translating complex technical issues into clear, easily understandable concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including experience with add-ons such as PerfectIT.
Experience with SharePoint for collaborative writing and content collation from multiple authors.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Bachelors degree in Communication or a related field.
Familiarity with Boeing style guides applicable to various document types.
Knowledge of BCAI or similar approved Boeing-internal document automation tools.
Understanding of HTML, XML, and DITA, along with experience in their supporting editing environments.
Experience to locate and synthesize engineering requirements, instructions, guidance, objectives, and directives from diverse disciplines and sources.
Experience working collaboratively within a small team on highly variable projects, effectively collating diverse inputs.
Strong collaboration skills to effectively engage with other teams, including Systems Engineering (SEIT), Engineering Strategy & Operations (ES&O), and the Digital & Systems Engineering Functional Chief Office.
Detail-oriented with a keen ability to identify errors in templates or AI-generated content, showcasing strong pattern recognition skills.
Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Beyond Compare.

Summary Pay Range : $98,600 - $133,400
